Evaristo Jiménez-Contreras is a full professor in Bibliometrics at the University of Granada and one of the most renowned Spanish scientists in the field of scientometrics. He is the founding director of the EC3 Research Group and was involved in initiatives such as the In-RECs family of citation indexes for the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Law. With regard to the specific topic of the project, he has worked extensively on the application of scientometric indicators for research evaluation purposes, his most significant work being that on the Spanish case of sexenios, the relation between indicators and peer review in research proposal evaluation panels, the effect of talent attraction programs and the use of bibliometric indicators for individual-level assessment. He has extensively collaborated with the PI, being his former PhD supervisor, and contributes to this project as a bibliometrics and research evaluation expert
